November 2013 Pictures!

November came and went so fast that we forgot to update our blog. It was a very nice and warm November for Denver. We spent a lot of time outside knowing that our days were numbered. We had a very good Thanksgiving too. We didn't follow tradition and instead we grilled some steaks. It was so nice and warm that we could not pass grilling one more time. We also got to play some football in the morning and just hand out and relax in the afternoon. The kids are very excited for Christmas, of course. Before that though, we will have Jason's 4th birthday on December 18th. He is getting too big, too fast. December has already started and the weather has really, really turned. So, we are glad we enjoyed November so much.

October 2013 Pictures!

October was a fun month. First, the kids had their fall break. We decided to take them on a couple of hikes before the weather gets too cold and snowy. We went to the Botanical Gardens close to our home. It was great and full of colors. We even got to pick 4 large pumpkins for free. A couple days later we took them to hike near Red Rocks. It was awesome. Easy hike and great views and colors too. Later in the month we had JoLynn's and Ariel's birthday. And, of course, we closed the month with Halloween. It is safe to say that we have candy for the next 2 or 3 months. It was fun, but also pretty cold and windy. November should be fun. We will start seeing a lot more snow and we are looking forward to Thanksgiving.

September 2013 Pictures!

September was somewhat of a quiet month. We had fun hiking Garden of the Gods with the kids on Labor Day. This place is really cool and right next to Colorado Springs. We had a lot of fun there and even got to see some mountain goats. The rest of September was fairly quiet expect for all the rain we had in Colorado. Luckily, we did not get any of the flooding that some parts of the state saw. Things are very green for this time of the year and we will have some great colors during this fall. JoLynn and Ariel got to go out to Madison, WI to check out the place. The kids stayed in Colorado, so that was nice for a change. October should be fun. Fall will be in full swing and we should be seeing our first snow. The kids are very excited about Halloween too. We will also have JoLynn's and Ariel's birthdays.

August 2013 Pictures!

August marked the start of school. The kids were excited to meet their new teachers and see their friends again. Kylie is now in 4th grade. Austin is in 2nd grade. They are getting big quickly. Jason is happy to get the house and toys all for himself all day long, as well as all the attention. We almost bought a new house too during this month. Ultimately, we decided to walk away and keep looking. We are close though. We look forward to September, to the trees start changing colors, to Broncos and BYU football, to cooler weather, etc. We may even see some snow, although that usually starts in October. We will see.

July 2013 Pictures!

July was such a fun month. We started in Glenwood Springs on our way to Utah. We stopped there for a night and visited the mountain caverns the next day. To get there, we had to ride a gondola all the way up to this park up in the mountains. This place included a zip line, roller coaster, mountain swing, laser tag, etc. It was great. We then headed to Utah for a one-week visit that included a trip to St George. Although it was very hot, we had fun visiting with family, several splash pads, checking out the 4th of July fireworks, hiking the Y, visiting BYU, hanging out in Provo, etc. It was a lot of fun, but we were ready to come home afterwards. The rest of July went very fast and it was very cool and wet here in Colorado, which is unusual. We are looking forward to August now and the start of school, football, etc. Getting closer to fall, which is a great time here in Colorado.

June 2013 Pictures!

This post comes a little late. June (and July) was so busy, that we hardly had time to catch up on a few things. First, we had Kylie's 9th birthday on June 7. She is getting big. That same day (and the day after) we took the kids to go see the B-17 at the Centennial airport. They had a lot of fun. They got to play with toy planes, got very close to the real planes, assemble their own model planes, etc. Later in the month we also got to go camping. The kids really enjoy that every year. Too bad the Sheriff came and made us put out the fire. Apparently, there were some fire restrictions we didn't know about. Also, later in the month, we got to go to Utah for a short vacation. Before that, we stopped in Glenwood Springs to do some caving and look around. It was a lot of fun. The kids' favorite part: staying at the hotel where they get to watch SpongeBob. July has been a lot of fun too. We spent the first week in Utah doing all kinds of things. We will have those pictures next month.

May 2013 Pictures!

May was a fun month. So fun and busy, we forgot to update our blog. The kids finally finished school. So summer is in full swing at our house. The kids will still have daily homework to keep them busy and sharp, but we have a lot of fun things planned too. For Memorial Day weekend, we had one set of grandparents visit us. We got to go to Tiny Town with them. Everyone enjoyed the train ride and the picnic afterwards. On that Monday, we went hiking to Deer Creek Canyon too. The kids did great. They are great hikers and did not complaint once. Kylie will be turning 9 on June 7. We can't believe how quickly these kids are growing. We also have a fun trip to Utah planned in June and the other set of grandparents will be in town.
